HOW CAN LOVE BE RECKLESS?
She heard the sound "Knock knock"...she froze, took a minute... "who is at the door?" A yelling that betrays the mixture of anticipation and this fearfull courage now all up in her face, nothing, no response but this particularly loud silence that feels like a blanket covering the entire room. Determined to stay calm, Debby took to her phone seeking to retry the failed attempts at self-distraction. It came the second time, the third time and went on for hours. The sound was now clearly defined, not at the door to the room but from the fragile organ which is now beating twice as fast.
Boom! she wakes up, there is music coming from the neighbour's truck park'd outside:
"there's no shadow you won't light up, mountain you won't climb up
coming after me
there's no wall you won't kick down,
lie you won't tear down
coming after me"
Feeling relieved she listened again as the song played the second time. It's "reckless love" the driver of the truck said as he waved at Debby who was already outside walking towards him.
With a warm smile he started sharing the story about love in its truest form: Cory Asbury's song truly says we all couldn't earn it, we don't deserve it... the overwhelming, never-ending & reckless one. He brings freedom to everyone He takes away pain, sin and shame.
He is right here, everywhere, makes you want to have hope in a hopeless world. Makes you want to forgive when people deserve punishment. Makes you want to love the people that hate you. Makes you want to play your part. Makes you want to write your own story.
